Your Voice Matters
The Hope and Despair Project is a joint effort in the mental health community that sheds light on what it is like living with mental illness. It is a black and white series that focuses on the light and the darkness that so many of us are trying to navigate through, highlighting a focus on mental health tattoos and self harm scars.
Throughout the series you will see many different beautiful faces sharing their stories from all walks of life and varying age groups, each with their own experiences to share about their struggles and those of their loved ones.
Mental health is a subject that is very dear to my heart. I struggle daily with my illness and I've lost several loved ones to suicide. Like you, I have a story to tell. We all do. Our stories matter. Our voices matter. YOUR voice matters. I am here because I empathize with you and I want to be a part of your journey so that your voice too can be heard.
"Black and white are the colors of photography. To me they symbolize the alternatives of hope and despair to which mankind is forever subjected."
